POEMS ABOUT NATURE, CREATION & THE WORLD ABOUT US

I find nature has a very therapeutic, calming effect on me and I tend to slow down and feel more relaxed and peaceful when I have the time to enjoy it. Naturally, I often end up inspired to write a poem as a result, so all of these nature inspired poems are listed together below in one category. However, nature, creation and the world covers a whole range of aspects, so if you looking for a more specific topic I have categorised my poems further into ANIMALS, PLANTS, INSECTS, SEASIDE, SEASONS, WATER, WEATHER

What am I?

6 February 2012

This poem is called a kenning, and is intended to build up from the least obvious description to the most obvious at the end. It is great for guessing games, and this is why I have given no clue in the title.

Shell

2 February 2012

This is a very simple poem that I wrote when I remembered holding a shell to my ear as a child and believing that I could hear the sound of the seaside inside it. A poem doesn’t need to be purely descriptive:  use your own experiences, thoughts or associations as ideas for things to say […]
