Christian Poetry

This Christian poem is a simple blessing of encouragement acknowledging God’s presence everywhere, and His role as a friend, overseer, a supporter and a guide.

I pray that as you live your life
Today and every day
You’ll feel our omnipresent Lord,
In your own special way:
Beside you always, as your friend
Whilst watching from above;
Behind you, as encouragement;
Within, as heartfelt love;
Beneath you, to uphold you;
Before, to show the way;
May God, our ever loving Lord,
Abide with you each day.

Psalm 139 verses 7 to 10

Where can I go from your Spirit?    Where can I flee from your presence?
 If I go up to the heavens, you are there;    if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
 If I rise on the wings of the dawn,    if I settle on the far side of the sea,
¹ even there your hand will guide me,    your right hand will hold me fast.
