Silly Poems
What can I say about this silly conversational poem. I’m sure that everyone can relate to the mystery of the missing teaspoons!
I need some extra teaspoons:
There’re none left in the drawer.
The last lot disappeared, so now
I’ve bought another four.
It’s time to have a coffee break.
In fact, I fancy tea.
I stir it with a teaspoon but,
That’s strange: there’s only three!
Oh well. I’ll keep a look out.
That’s all that I can do….
But when I have a yogurt
There’s another missing too!
So, where do all the teaspoons go?
Already, two have gone!
Then when I make my son’s packed lunch
I find I’m down to one!
I’ve done the washing up.
I’ve even emptied out the drawer…
So how can there be only one
When I KNOW there were four?!
Then morning comes, it seems the
Teaspoon saga carries on,
For when I need to stir my tea
THE TEASPOONS ARE ALL GONE!
The mysteries of the universe
All come to this: How odd!
What must I do to satisfy
The cruel Teaspoon God?!
So, from now on, I have
A teaspoon ritual I do
To satisfy the Teaspoon God….
So you could try it too!
I chant “The Teaspoon God rules!” as
I stir my cup of tea….
Once, then twice, then clink the spoon
On the side for three.
I wash and dry the teaspoon.
Open drawer: place inside.
Now finally I know the
Teaspoon God is satisfied!
