Cobwebs

This simple rhyming children’s acrostic poem about spiders includes a simile and a small amount of alliteration.

Cobwebs are a lovely sight for everyone to see(Or maybe flies and cleaners would have cause to disagree)

But generally their beauty is a wonder to behold

When silver morning dewdrops make them shine like glistening goldspider movie

Even when the dew has gone they are a fascination

Beauty such as theirs is such a genius creation

Spiders, on the other hand, I have to say I CANNOT STAND!

TIP

I have a tendency for rhyme and rhythm regardless of the poem form that I am using, but the word “Cobwebs” does not have an even number of lines so couldn’t follow a usual rhyme scheme.  Therefore I used an ‘internal rhyme’ on the final line (hand, stand) to keep the same feel throughout the poem and to bring it to a sudden end, in keeping with the final sentiment!
