An Encouragement Poem

This encouragement, list poem is creatively written to include a list of metaphors and is a lovely encouragement to someone who doesn’t recognise their own value and purpose……

What is a poem if no-body reads it?
What is a favour if no-body needs it?

What is a present, if no-body gives?
How painful is “sorry”, if no-one forgives?

What is a story with no-one to listen?
What is a diamond without light to glisten?

What good is night-time without any day?
How flat is “Hip, Hip!” without the “Hooray!”

What’s a performance with no-one to see?
What is a keyhole without any key?

So many good things in life all rely
On something or other to help them get by.

So many moments in life since your birth
Relied upon you for purpose and worth.

So many people exist with no clue
Of how very special they are; is that you?

Then find what your purpose is, look for your role.
You could be the key that unlocks the keyhole!

You could be the echo of HIP, HIP HOORAY
The person who turns someone’s night-time to day.

The light on the diamond, the shine as it glistens
My words will have purpose, if somebody listens!
