Twinkle Twinkle little star
How I wonder what you are!
Up above the world so high
Like a diamond in the sky.
Twinkle, twinkle, little star.
How I wonder what you are.

 

 

This lovely little lullaby / nursery rhyme is probably one of the first simile poems that most children will hear!  The rhyme and rhythm pattern are easy to adopt to write alternative versions, which is something that I did before I realised that I was a poet when I used to sing to my baby son!  Click here to see the personalised sweet version that I sang to my son Bradley.
