I wrote this poem specifically as an example of alliteration poetry, demonstrating alliteration to children in an obvious and humorous way…
The kangaroo kicked the giant giraffe
Who fell with a thud to the floor
The horrid hyena had a good laugh
And the cheeky chimps cheered for more.
Then Percy the penguin and Sammy the seal
Caused chaos by dancing around
And flapping their flippers with far too much zeal
And loudly tip-tapping the ground.
The hippo headmaster watched from afar
Then called the whole class to attention
“You’re acting like animals, that what you are!
I’m giving you all a detention”
