This simple shape poem considers the texture and the behaviour of the leaf, and includes a metaphor as well as demonstrating personification.

The words “dancing” and “whispering” are usually used to explain a person’s behaviour, which is why this ‘figurative writing’ technique is called personification; it relates to the leaf’s behaviour as if it is a person.
