My Bogie Collection

This disgusting (sorry!) list poem includes lots of moments of alliteration, but is too disgusting a topic for my daughter to allow me to read aloud!  For some reason, she thinks that I’m immature!

I pick my nose quite often,
I’m really good at it.
I find my little finger
Is just the perfect fit.

I’ve grown my nail especially
So it can scoop things out;
It can be a challenge
Emptying my snout!

I’ve recently excelled though
And found a whole selection
Of bogies of so many types
To add to my collection.

I’ve found….

‘Dust that turned to crust’ ones,
‘Pick ‘em if you must’ ones;
‘Slimy and wet’ ones,
‘Playing hard to get’ ones.
‘Sticking to a hair’ ones,
‘Wipe ‘em on the chair’ ones;
‘Fly out with a sneeze’ ones,
‘Poke ‘em out with ease’ ones.

And then….

‘Can’t get ‘em to leave’ ones,
‘Wipe ‘em on your sleeve’ ones;
‘Dangle from your nose’ ones,
‘Openly exposed’ ones.
‘Red and rotten scab’ ones,
But the really fab ones
Simply just refuse to go,
No matter what techniques you know.

The good thing is that when they stay
They’re ripe to pick another day!
