This sun poem is another one of my personification examples.
Can’t you make a bit more effort
To brighten up the place?
I have spent my whole day
With a smile upon my face,
You stagger on the earth
With your feeble starlight wink,
And all my effort’s wasted
And gone in just one blink.
The sun doesn’t really have a face, but yet you know what I mean when I suggest that it has a smile on its face don’t you? I have made the sun and the night sky sound like people, and have given them the characteristics and behaviour of a human being, by using words that would normally describe people (shown in bold italics).
Why not try this yourself by looking closely at objects, or things of nature around you, and doing the same. You’ll get more ideas on the TEACHERS’ PAGE, FIGURATIVE WRITING INTRO, PERSONIFICATION
